Counselling

For some people, counselling is the first time they experience someone truly listening to them.
It is an opportunity to explore the problems you are facing in a safe, confidential space, free from judgement.

The relationship a client has with their counsellor is one of the most important aspects of successful therapy. I offer empathy and warmth, and a commitment to understanding your unique experience. I aim to build a trusting relationship with you, where you can feel safe to tell your story.

The process of counselling can help clients to gain a better understanding of their feelings, and increase their awareness of how experiences both past and present have impacted on the way they think about themselves. Rather than someone giving you solutions or telling you what to do, it is a chance to have someone sit in your problems with you whilst you learn more about yourself and your relationships leading to the opportunity for positive change.

I offer short and long term counselling to adults and young people over the age of 16.
Issues I can help with, but not limited to, are:

Relationship issues
Suicidal ideation and self harm
Anxiety
Grief
Depression
Loneliness/isolation
Identity issues
Life transitions
Self esteem
